Stella glanced at Matthew, sensing a return of his confident and distant attitude from when they first met, yet she acknowledged the truth in his words. If Devyn truly did something wrong, Stella had to confront her about it.

“How do you find her design?” Matthew asked over the phone.
“It’s average,” Nikolai replied bluntly. “Perhaps she can shine among average designers, but there’s still plenty of room for improvement. With her design skills, it’s unlikely for her to make it into my studio. I’m puzzled how Bella selected her.”

Devyn texted back quickly. After reading the message, Matthew couldn’t help but caution Stella, “Be careful tonight. I just had Nikolai return her design, and now she’s reaching out. Something doesn’t add up. Make sure to record what she says.”
